FYI : Never wear heels to the SWAPMEET HOE!

Recuperating from Saturday night?... Too bad! I woke up at 9 a.m. sharp to finally head down to my favorite Swap meet in Pasadena. The Rose Bowl to be exact! 2,000 vendors, bomb food and anything your little heart desires. Every second Sunday of each month, everyone from LA comes here to really hunt for furniture, toys, records, and of course vintage clothes. It's $7.00 bucks to get in and I suggest to go early cause the good shit always run out! Bring kicks or flat boots cause your puppies get tired from walking around the huge stadium parking lot. I only spent about $100.00 but found amazing things.. dresses, records, and snake skin ankle boots! I def def recommend shopping here on a beautiful L.A. Sunday...

Yuppp

...a plastic version of you is chillen on a shelf in South Dakota. Meet the Villain: Kid Robot and Stonesthrow collaborated to bring us the Madvillain toy. The oddly proportioned figurine is only about 35 bucks (which is pretty affordable by Kidrobot standards) and comes with a cd of Madlib remixes...my little pony never came this correct. " This music video is about a man whom befriended a fatherless ghetto boy. The boy stole from him time and time again. This video also speaks of a man who fathered twins with a woman he felt no love for. This song is highly emotional and it's not about how well the singer is it's about expression of hard times." - reh dogg

AND LYRICS!!

Maximo (3 times)

Tell me why
Why must I cry
Tell me why
Why must I cry
Why must I cry

Why must I cry why must I cry why ( 6 times)
Tell me why

(Verse)
No matter what I did I tried to love this kid, ever since he was eight
All he ever did was lie and steal from me
Now he's seventeen and I thought that he'd change his ways but when I look at kid
He's still hating on me
It makes me sad to see this kid, he's still hating on me, he's bad I just can't lie anymore
I gotta push him through the door
Recently the kid stole my jewelry, I turn my back and he steals my gun from me
Kid be careful you're gonna shoot someone and end up in jail
A death sentence is that what you want? I know that you really hate me but why did you have to do these things to me. It's not fair you really don't care.
Don't understand why you gotta go this route, don't you understand without a doubt it's the wrong path, understand

(Chours)
Tell me why
Why must I cry
Tell me why
Why must I cry
Why must I cry why must I cry why (3 times)
Tell me why

Why must I cry why must I cry why (3 times)
Tell me why

(Verse)
Tammie Starr, who do you think you are, using those kids as weapons you know it's not fair Tyler I really love you and I really miss you and Deja
Now I got twins on the way, Tammie Starr you've gone away

Tea to Tapas - New Years in Europe!

Hey ya'll I know it's been awhile since I’ve checked in and that's because I spent over a week in Europe (London and Barcelona to be exact), and just got back in the States last night. During my trip I was soaking in the culture, the not-so-peachy weather, the food and vino, the art, architecture, the "scenes", the people, the music, and but of course the shopping. Full re-cap coming up in the next couple of days since I am jet-lagged to the fullest and honestly am struggling to keep awake, but I promise you I will give you a craving of some international flavors. Sure, there's no place like home, but there's no place like a new place that just tones you up and fills up your intellect and soul with some worldly experiences and knowledge. From the Gaudi temple to the London Underground aka the Tube to the backdoor all nite raves to the dopest vintage and second-hand stores I've came across for awhile. I definitely fell in love with Spain and one thing I learned as well -- GUIDE BOOKS GUIDE BOOKS AND MORE GUIDEBOOKS -- but I'm talking about the real underground weirdo "urban" ones which point out all the spots you'd be running around asking around for, but I'll give you my travel advice along with a photo story of my trip. Ok before I take a little siesta, I bring you an eye-catching ad I spotted on the Tube going from Soho back to Kennsington. Damn should have investigated some nail shops! Oh and lots of x's and o's to my girl Shar @ WE AINT HOES! and her girls for their love! Ciao.

You can click the image to enlarge. Lets face it, even though I'm going thru my classique stage with nails and make up... well not really but more maroons and reds and vamps instead of neons and sparkles... I still can recognize a cute nail job, and a witty ad to go along. HAH! You damn witty british.

Meeooooow

Ever since I was the tiny age of 8, I remember hysterically crying over this huge stuffed animal in the Sanrio store..begging and pleading with my mom to buy me one Hello Kitty stuffed toy. (price $50.00..wtf?)...then over the years followed the gum dispenser, bath towels, mirror cases, and everything DAMN ELSE! This weird obsession with a cat, a frog (keroppi), and dog and twin stars?? I remember trading my Sanrio nik-nacks with my neighborhood buddies and fighting over coloring books! Now, 11 years older and somewhat wiser I currently have a Hello Kitty Toaster in my apartment and absolutely love my Jr. High boy short underwear with the HK icon on the back. Something about this girly, childish cartoon endeared it and made us love it and want everything and anything that had to do with her. Maybe I was brainwashed by my adolescent friends or cousins, but I probably will love HK until I'm an old wrinkled-up lady...here for your obsessive pleasure are a few small facts about the Hello Kitty phenomenon that's had us hooked for 30 years!

Hellooooooo kitty.

Hello Kitty is now a beloved icon in more than 30 countries, and this is the 30th anniversary year of the birth of Kitty.

Copy Cat

Musti
Kitty's design was just a crib from this!!!
This is "Musti" created by the Belgian animator/director Ray Goossens (1924-1998). Musti was started as an animation series on TV in 1968, and its picture books were also published. I read some of that books and loved it in my childhood.
Although it is evident to everybody that Kitty was an imitation of Musti, Sanrio, the publisher of Hello Kitty have not touched on it.

It is said that the total copyright fee for Hello Kitty reaches around 15 billion yen (13.7 million USD) per year, and Sanrio got 23.7 billion yen (21.6 million USD) gross sales in second quarter of 2004. I wonder why they don't feel shady about hiding this fact?

Flick of O’six : 'Apocalypto'

Besides “Boyz on the Hood” and “My Fair Lady”, I have little interest in watching a movie twice. If you know the ending, why spend two hours watching it again? After seeing “Apocalypto” this last weekend, I became my own hypocrite. This flick is cuhhhh-razy. Interestingly enough, the critics think it’s bunk; too violent and on some savage-like disturbing steez for our stuffy, dim-witted movie culture. Did I just say that? Really though, the only reason I’m sticking up for this flick is because beyond the head hunting gore, this movie carries such a deep-rooted meaning. Here’s the scoop: the plot surrounds a man (Jaguar Paw) living at the end of the Mayan culture. His life and village seem like a utopia for the time: his people live plentifully off the land, adore the forest for the riches it provides and basically chill; everyone is equal and life is good. Overnight, this dream of a life changes for Jaguar Paw and his people. Word travels that a take-over is about to go down. Jaguar Paw is tainted by fear and paranoia about the forecast. In the dawn of a quiet morning, their village is raided and burned to pieces and the villagers either get snuffed or captured and taken to a foreign city.

Now this is the point in the movie that makes me roll my eyes at all the people that hate on this film. Yes, the main character eventually gets through all the blood, bad boys and drama and saves the day, same old shit. But the themes of this movie are glossed over by critics. This movie isn’t meant to show the viewers decapitations and how bad-ass the Mayans were, but it was to (drum roll….) give a psychological LESSON to human beings. “A great civilization is not destroyed from without until it has destroyed itself from within”, this quote began the movie and explains the end of it simultaneously. After being captured, the villagers begin to believe their own destruction and buy in to the fear. What’s the lesson here? Thoughts create reality, ya’ll. All of the power is within us, therefore under our control. Sink or swim, you know?

When the villagers are taken to the estranged city, hierarchies and social classes are in vogue (not to mention the forest that once thrived there is completely murdered), something the villagers had never seen before. It’s a simple concept: as soon as people begin to assign classes to one another, the poison sets in and self-destruction is triggered. The movie shows scenes that completely mirror our society today: we got the elders asking for food and care, kids beefing out of plain malice, the five-finger discounters, the fat kid filled with entertainment and food rather than his momma’s love, the corrupt priest rounding up his spaced-out followers, etc. This shit doesn’t work…we’ve seen it in the ruin of the Mayans and today. Case in point: this film is a bona fide reminder that faith and equality among humanity is the only thing that’s gonna keep us from sinking. Booya!

Females making a huge impact in this World.

Over and over this women gives. She gave a tiny $40 million... Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls outside of Johannesburg, South Africa. Oprah’s all-girls academy stands good on a promise she made to Nelson Mandela six years ago, to educate and provide a future for impoverished girls.
I love love love Oprah, shes a damn saint walking around earth..lol I always end up crying watching her show. Cause one day I want to give back exactly like this women.
"Oprah is one of the most amazing women in the world. It is amazing to see what she can do when she puts her mind to it. "

Sigh..laur

Hair weave and a harebrained scheme...

I would just like to echo Laura's joy and happiness at the premiere of 'I LOVE NEW YORK.' I too am ready and waiting for all the craze that that triflin ass bi polar bitch can bring. Girls, she's the friend you never wanted but cant get rid of, Guys, she's the girl you wished to hell you never brought home from the club, she's the bitch in line for the bathroom acting a fool and last but not the least, she's the crazy eyed ho who if you happen to cross...you take your shoe off, throw it at her and run like there's a fire on your ass, cause she will skin you alive and then wear your hyde. She's a fucking banshee, In my mind I see her running around like a gazelle, wearing a loincloth, screaming and letting out war cries and scalping anything that crosses her path. She's a fucking wildwoman. This show is a no brainer, it needs no introduction and the exec's at VH1 are basically jerking each other off right now cause they're so psyched about the millions they're gonna make from employing a one woman circus. New York makes me shake my head and smile "ahhh that New York, shes fucking berzerk." It's like a warm happy feeling, I think it's in part due to the fact that someone has capitolized on her nuttiness to bring me all this great couch time. It's like...good times. But can we talk about the mens who apparently VOLUNTEERED themselves? Why? Why would you do that to yourself? It's not like you dont know about the web of chaos you just got woven into. It's known. I mean I expect they stand to gain a cash prize, but lets be real...isn't keeping your dignity and your penis attached to your body worth more than a cash prize? I guess not...AND BOY AM I HAPPY ABOUT IT! These loser dicks are gonna bare the brunt of all her humiliation and evil trickery and I for one cant wait to see a bunch of plucked eyebrow male stripper fucks get completely shit on for my amusement. Maybe it's my feminist streak flaring up...but I'm glad the scale of abuse has been tipped. I want to see BOYS CRY this time. I'm talking emotional breakdowns and fits of "I just cant take it anymore!!" Oooooooo, it's gonna be good. It's like an unwrapped preasent...ANYTHING could be in there. We're just gonna have to wait and watch. See you on the couch ladies.
